和歌山県と淡路島の間に浮かぶ戦争遺産島「友ヶ島」
一日で回れる小さな島には、旧日本軍による第1～第5砲台や弾薬庫、兵舎、灯台などが遺され、一部が見学可能
その廃墟っぷりがジブリっぽい（ラピュタっぽい）として人気を集めています
歴史的には、設置された大砲は実戦では使用されず、終戦後に解体され、米軍によって海に沈められたそうです
とはいえ、これもまた戦争の爪痕の一つと思うと、厳粛な気持ちで見つめてしまいますね

横須賀に浮かぶ、同じ戦争遺産島「猿島」によく似ていました
にしても、想像以上に人が多くてびっくりしました！

Tomogashima islands is well-known as abandoned forts of a secret military base during World War II, situated in Osaka bay, between Kada port of Wakayama prefecture and Awajishima island. There are gun batteries and other defences, along with various support facilities, were constructed to counter foreign warships. These ruins are getting popular to resemble the world of Studio Chibli's animation works like 'Castle in the sky (Laputa)' in mood nowadays.
Actually I think it really resembles Sarushima island in Yokosuka, Kanagawa prefecture in appearance as abandoned forts of a secret military base.
Anyway it's so picturesque and stunning! So many tourists are landing for just picnic, hiking, camping overnight, swiming in sea, or going and worshipping as a Buddhist monks for Shugendō like Japanese traditional animizm.
