Mitarashi-ike pond, Noto peninsula, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan

石川県七尾市にある、赤倉神社の「御手洗池（みたらしいけ）」

全国名水百選に選ばれた名水で、
古くは聖武天皇の皇太子の眼病治療に利用されたとも伝えられる霊泉

そんな伝説もあってか、
とにかく神秘的で、ぶ厚い苔に覆われた池でした

それはともかく、七尾市も被害が甚大だそうです
どうなっているのか心配です

You might know about New Year's Day earthquake with 7.6 magnitude in Noto peninsula, Japan. Actually the aftershocks still are continuing almost everyday and increasing the number of victims. We're in deep grief anyway.

However I believe that they will be able to recover from the earthquake in the near future. So I'll let you know the beautiful places I've been to Noto peninsula and Hokuriku region.

This is called 'Mitarashi-ike' pond, situated in Akakura mountain, Nanao city, Ishikawa prefecture. This spring water is selected as one of the Japan 100 best waters and has a legend related to the Shomu emperor's son(prince) for caring his eyes in the 8th century.
