その最大のハイライトがこの「大蛇嵓（だいじゃぐら）」
嵓（ぐら）とは岩の古い言葉で「断崖」や「岩壁」と意味するそう
蛇の背のようなうねって突き出す岩が特徴で
画像1枚目の景色を見るまでが超スリリング！
ちょっとわかりにくいですが、画像2枚目の通り、やや滑りやすい岩の斜面を先端まで行かねばなりません
バランス崩せば谷底に落ちるリスクもあり、行列ができるほどの絶景スポットながら、多くがへっぴり腰で先端まで向かいます
大台ケ原山には「西大台」と「東大台」の2つのエリアがあって、この大蛇嵓があるエリアは東大台で許可なしで登山可能、西大台は要申請となっています
それはともかく、
屋久島に匹敵する、年間降水量3500㎜という大雨地域にもかかわらず、快晴に恵まれ、
紅葉ピークでとてもきれいでした！

Daija-gura cliff is the highlight of Mt. Ohdaigahara, located in Kamikita-mura village, Nara prefecture, Japan, where is named after its appearance of a giant snake like a dragon (Daija means 'big snake', Gura means 'cliff'), with 1600m above sea level.
There is a beathtaking and thrilling view from the edge of Daija-gura, but we have to walk down slowly to the edge on the slippery dangerous rock as the 2nd photo. Most people are not standing straight to get there because of the fear.
Mt. Ohdaigahara is consist of Higashi(East)-Ohdai and Nishi(west)-Ohdai areas. Higashi-Ohdai including Daija-gura is not necessary for the entry permit, but Nishi-Ohdai is necessary for it because of the designated and preserved vargin forest.
Anyway the peak of the fall foliage was super stunning!
